On the 3rd October WhiteHat and Goal 17 will be celebrating an exciting new partnership with a special invitation event exploring how the world of work is changing, what companies can do to introduce a generation of diverse talent and what initiatives they can put in place to increase levels of engagement and improve staff retention.

ABOUT THE HOSTS

WhiteHat, a tech start-up building an outstanding alternative to university through apprenticeships, and Goal17, a leading training company supporting businesses to engage and retain the best talent through mentoring, have partnered to promote sustainable business for the future.

Goal 17 provides the UK’s number one sports-led mentoring programme for business. They match corporate clients with homeless or vulnerable young people through an inspiring mentoring programme that transforms the organisations and lives of everyone involved. Their flagship programme combines online theoretical learning, 1.5 days’ facilitated training and hands-on experience mentoring a young person who is participating in a mirroring 10-week transformational course with their charity partner, The Street Soccer Foundation.

The Street Soccer Foundation exists to help see an end to youth homelessness and youth unemployment in the UK through the power of football and its development courses.

WhiteHat, founded by Euan Blair and Sophie Adelman, is a tech start-up creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university through apprenticeships. WhiteHat focuses on three core areas; measuring potential beyond academics & work experience through their platform; delivering world-class teaching and content via applied learning programmes; and helping a diverse group of young people build social capital & strong networks through a thriving on-and-offline community.

Together, WhiteHat and Goal 17 want to raise awareness amongst young people of the different pathways available to them into the workplace and, for the corporate community, how initiatives like mentoring and apprenticeships can increase levels of employee engagement and improve staff retention.

Fran Boorman, Co-Founder of Goal 17 said, “WhiteHat are providing a genuine solution to ensure companies can both utilise their Apprenticeship Levy whilst also creating a diverse and meaningful talent base that is fit for purpose in our fast-changing economy. WhiteHat understand the importance of Mentoring in that journey and by working in partnership with Goal 17, together we can support companies in developing a meaningful mentoring culture from end-to-end within their organisation.”

Euan Blair, Co-Founder and CEO of WhiteHat commented, “Goal 17, is a unique organisation that unites people from all kinds of different backgrounds and helps them realise their true potential. Partnering with them is an opportunity to boost conversations about how organisations can invest in the workforce of the future and embed lifelong learning into their culture.”

To launch the partnership, that will see a WhiteHat apprenticeship as a potential progression route for young people taking part in the mentoring programme, WhiteHat and Goal 17 are co-hosting a myth busting breakfast on the 3rd October. At the event, they’ll discuss what companies can do to introduce a generation of diverse talent and the initiatives they can put in place to increase levels of engagement and improve staff retention.
